Anna Karpova


Anna Karpova graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Ballet in St. Petersburg Russia.  Ms. Karpova began her career as a performing artist under direction and training of the World Famous Russian ballerina, Alla Osipenko.  

Anna started to perform in 1990 with Lenningrad Jacobson Dance Company in all the leading roles in the repertoire of the world-renowned choreographer Leonid Jacobson.  Ms. Karpova joined the Kirov Ballet (Mariinski Opera and Ballet Theatre) in 1992.  She has danced in almost all of the ballets from the traditional classical repertoire.  In 1996 Anna was invited to perform with Guangzhou Ballet, the second largest ballet company in China.  

Since coming to Canada in 1998, Ms. Karpova continued her career with Ballet Jorgen Canada.  At the same time she began teaching, appearing as a guest teacher and staging classical ballet productions.  

Presently Anna directs the ballet program at Performing Dance Arts and is on faculty at the Bossov Ballet Theatre in Maine, United States.  Since 2004, Ms. Karpova receives yearly rewards of the Cordell Hull Foundation for International Education in the United States with a certificate of appreciation for her contribution to the development of the dance program in the United States.  
Anna received Outstanding Teacher Award at Youth America Grand Prix Ballet Competition in 2010.
