Our dance studio in Yorkdale is now open for classes for recreational and competitive dancers. Performing Dance Arts’ creators Ryan and Ashley are proud to offer those in the Yorkdale region a space to express their creativity and passion for dance.
Based on the moves of the 15th century Italian Renaissance dance performances, ballet is one of our most popular classes. Our ballet classes for kids in the Yorkdale area express a story with the graceful and elegant moves of this magical experience.
Tap dancing originated more than 300 years ago from the Indigenous American dance genre. This dance uses rhythm, or jazz, tap and Broadway tap percussion sounds by hitting the floor with metal on the heel and toe of the shoe.
The same improvisation seen with the music of jazz can be seen with the various dance movements of jazz dance. Originating from Africa and European dance styles, kids jazz dance classes at our Yorkdale studio are high-energy.
Our kids hip-hop dance classes in North York comes from the street dance movements of locking, breaking, and popping. This unique style of dance rose from the historical and social roots of African American culture.
Acro combines aerobatic aspects with basic dance moves seen in most dance genres, especially contemporary, lyrical, and jazz. The dancer’s flexibility and strength are hugely dependent on these movements.
As one of the newer dance genres to hit the world stage, contemporary uses innovative moves of ballet, jazz, modern, and lyrical to create this popular form of dance.
Musical theatre encompasses several popular dance genres to create a storyline told on stage by dancers who act and sing in addition to creating magic through dance.
Our Yorkdale studio is the latest in our family of dance locations with a state-of-the-art sound system and modern raised flooring to support the dancers. We have dancer dressing rooms, a warm-up area, a lunch area, and a lounge complete with live cameras from all dance studios. We offer safe and complimentary parking for our staff and parents.

Yes, all Performing Dance Arts studios have a professional atmosphere, which means we enforce a dress code. Proper wear of bodysuits, tights, and appropriate dance shoes are encouraged.
