Josephine Dicosmo has been dancing since the age of three. She is professionally trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet (R.A.D., Vaganova and Cichetti Methods), Modern (Limon and Graham Techniques), Pointe, Acrobatics, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. Over the years, she has trained with many well-known teachers and choreographers across Canada and the United States, and has developed a passion for teaching. She has been teaching and choreographing since the age of 16.
Josephine is a Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts honours graduate receiving an Award of Excellence in Dance. Since her graduating year, she has had the opportunity to co-produce Cardinal Carter’s bi-annual ‘Nutcracker’ production. She is currently attending York University finishing off her Honours Dance degree, specializing in choreography and performance, and is working towards her Education Degree. Josephine was casted in the movie ‘Me and My Shadows: A Documentary on the Life of Judy Garland’, and has won many awards in various National Dance Competitions including Dancer of the Year and Miss Starpower.
