Toronto, Canada, October 19, 2015 – Performing Dance Arts, (www.performingdancearts.ca), Toronto’s leading dance studio for children of all skill levels, is weighing in on the success of Fall for Dance North.
Inspired by the internationally acclaimed Fall for Dance festival in New York City, Toronto debuted its inaugural Fall for Dance North festival from September 29 to October 1. The events took place at the Sony Centre for the Performing Artsin Toronto and featured renowned international dance companies, including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Nrityagram from India and DanceBrazil. There was also a special set by long-time Canadian ballet dancer Peggy Baker paired with Arcade Fire’s Sarah Neufeld (Source: Fall For Dance North website, October 9, 2015;http://www.ffdnorth.com/)
“Having this festival take place in Toronto was just incredible,” says Ashley Daychak, Creative Director at Performing Dance Arts. “For years this same dance event has been a staple in New York City, and now the residents of Toronto have an opportunity to see some of the very best dance companies in the world perform right here in our backyard.”
Tickets were available for $10, regardless of seating location. “Ticket prices are one of the biggest deterrents to getting more people who are actually interested in ballet and other varieties of dance to come out and watch the shows,” Daychak admits. “So to be able to see a number of high level dance companies perform for such a low cost is a luxury and one that doesn’t happen too often.”
Due to the overall success of the festival, Fall for Dance North is expected to return next year.
Performing Dance Arts offers young dancers of all levels of dance, be it competitive or recreation, an opportunity to be trained by some of the best dance instructors in Ontario.
